The IPL 2015 will be played from 8th April 2015 to 24th May 2015. The excitement of this season has reached new heights as a new team will be playing this season. To keep track of the teams win and loss, our points table will tell you how the equations have changed over the time. The points table will tell you the number of matches played by each team, the matches won and lost by each team, the matches that resulted in a draw or had no result and the latest position of the teams in the points tally. The net run rate also plays a crucial role many a times in deciding the result of a match.
Four play-off matches, including the final, will be played taking the total to 60 matches. In the play-offs, the top two teams of IPL 8 points table will face each other in the Qualifier 1 play-off match and the winner will qualify for the final.
The teams that finish third and fourth in the IPL 8 team standings will play each other in the Eliminator play-off match. The winner will then play against the loser of Qualifier 1 in the Qualifier 2 play-off. The winner of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will face each other in the final of Pepsi IPL 2014 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on June 01.
Points are awarded in the group stage of Pepsi IPL T20 as follows:
Win : 2 points, No result: 1 point and Loss : 0 points
According to rules, if a match ended with the scores tied, the tie is broken with a one-over-per-side Super Over.
Team with most runs wins
- If equal, the team with most number of boundary sixes throughout the entire match wins.
- If still equal, the team with most number of boundaries throughout the entire match wins.
- If still equal, the team taking the most wickets throughout the entire match wins.
- If still equal, a count-back from the final ball of the Super Over eliminator shall be conducted. The team with the higher scoring delivery shall be the winner.
- If still equal, by toss.
